“CHINA (HAINAN) INTERNATIONAL TROPICAL AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS WINTER TRADE FAIR 2019”

From December 12 to December 16, 2019, a delegation from Armenia was in Hainan province to participate in the “CHINA (HAINAN) INTERNATIONAL TROPICAL AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS WINTER TRADE FAIR 2019” and to sign the international “Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation Between the Government of Shirak Region of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of Hainan Province of the People's Republic of China”.
 
  Reception of the delegation from the Republic of Armenia led by the Governor of Shirak Region Mr. Tigran Petrosyan and Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the People’s Republic of China Mr. Manasaryan Sergey, as well as members of the leadership of the <> including the President of the Fund Mr. Avanesov Sergey, General Director Mr. Simonyants Vladimir, was held at the highest level.
 
  The "Fund for Regional Development of Chinese-Armenian Relations" at the “CHINA (HAINAN) INTERNATIONAL TROPICAL AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS WINTER TRADE FAIR 2019” presented the National Stand of the Republic of Armenia with an area of more than 110 square meters, where various high-quality and environmentally friendly products from Armenian manufacturers were presented.  The stand was located in the central hall of the “International Exhibition Center” Hainan province, among representatives of the countries participating in the Great Silk Road and supporting the initiative of the President of China Mr. Xi Jinping - “One Belt - One Road”.
 
  
 
As the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Peoples Republic of China, Mr. Sergey Manasaryan has noted: - For the first time, Armenia is participating in one of the largest agricultural fairs in China, in particular, in the “CHINA (HAINAN) INTERNATIONAL TROPICAL AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS WINTER TRADE FAIR 2019”.
 
  Over the 5 days of the “CHINA (HAINAN) INTERNATIONAL TROPICAL AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS WINTER TRADE FAIR 2019”, contracts were concluded for a total of 77.45 billion yuan ($ 11.06 billion) (according to the information resource "Nanhaiwan").
 
  In 34 pavilions, with a total exhibition area of 80 thousand square meters, more than 2.7 thousand participants from 32 countries and regions of the worldwide present, where more than 20 thousand types of agricultural products were presented.
 
  
 
  The exhibition participants reached an agreement on 41 investment projects in the agricultural sector, and the total number of agricultural specialists participating in it reached 7.5 thousand people.  According to the organizers, in total, the exhibition was visited by more than 570 thousand people, and the volume of agricultural products sales there reached 180 million yuan ($ 26 million) this year.
 
  The party secretary of Hainan, Mr. Liu Tsygui, who visited the exhibition and, in particular, the National Stand of Armenia, called for using this site as an important element in the project of building a pilot free trade zone on the island, as well as stimulating agricultural production.  The official expressed confidence that Hainan will attract a greater number of foreign companies to participate in the exhibition in order to promote the province's trade and economic cooperation with countries participating in the "One Belt - One Road" project.
 
  
 
  Within the framework of the Armenian delegation’s stay in Hainan, the official meetings of the delegation of Armenia and the People’s Government of Hainan Province were held.  The main and most important event was the signing of the international “Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation Between the Government of Shirak Region of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of Hainan Province of the People's Republic of China” with a wide range of projects, as well as a number of meetings with the Department of Commerce and Trade of Hainan Province, Human Resources Department of Hainan Province, Hainan Airlines, Customs Committee of Hainan Province, “Ziiot & UTC Global” Corporation, the only Chinese company in the development of Chinese international standardization: product quality, equipment, maintenance, management and other.
