On November 5, 2023, Dr. Sergey Avanesov, Chairman of the Fund for Regional Development of Chinese-Armenian Relations, visited the Research Institude of Armenology,Center for Transcaucasia Studies ,Binzhou University in Shandong Province and met with Professor Qi Peicheng, the director of the institute. Professor Qi Peicheng is a world expert on Armenian history. He studies the history of Armenian civilization and biography of Vardan Mamikonyan. As we all know, Vardan Mamikonyan is of Chinese descent and comes from the Chinese royal family. In addition, Ani Margaryan, PhD in Art, and leaders of the School of Humanities of Binzhou University also attended this meeting.
During the exchange of views , Dr. Sergey Avanesov and Professor Qi Peicheng held an in-depth discussion and exchange of views on a broad program related to the great son of the Chinese and Armenian people, Vardan Mamikonyan. Professor Qi Peicheng showed great interest in the program and expressed his willingness to provide exclusive historical materials related to Vardan Mamikonyan. All rights to the presented material and research on Vardan Mamikonyan will exclusively belong to the Fund (Fund for Regional Development of Chinese-Armenian Relations) and Professor Qi.Both parties agreed to cooperate on this program and plan to sign a special memorandum of cooperation. The next step in promotion and implementation is the holding of a set of events related to Vardan Mamikonyan - the production of documentaries and movie, holding lectures and conferences. Covering the figure and role of Vardan Mamikonyan in the history of Armenia will contribute to the development and strengthening of friendship between the Chinese and Armenian peoples.
